Yogyakarta Police Identification affairs investigate the cause of fire house on Bhayangkara street, Yogyakarta


Yogyakarta - Hari Sunarto (54) a citizen of Ngadiwinatan 17th Bhayangkara street, Ngampilan, Yogyakarta was suffered burns after his house caught by fire on Thursday (11/02) night.

It is suspected the fire that burned his house came from the parking space of the motorbike and immediately spread to the side of the house.

When the incident happened, the owner of the house was sleeping in his room immediately tried to save himself, but he still suffered injuries to his temples and arms.

The victim said he previously smelled smoke while sleeping in his room. Sunarto saw the fire from the space where the motorbike was parked.

"Because the fire was big and there was a puff of smoke, then I tried to save myself and got out of the house immediately" he said.

Meanwhile, according to the Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Police, AKP Timbul Sasana Raharja, when the victim try to get out, the fire had already grown. The citizens who saw the incident immediately reported to the fire department.

Firefighters (damkar) deployed five units of fire engines. The suppression operation lasted about two hours.

Because this incident, the victim lost properties in his home.

"The overall material loss cannot be estimated yet and the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Yogyakarta Police Identification affairs” concluded AKP Timbul.
