Gondomanan Police Reveals New Mode of Motorcycle Theft


Yogyakarta - The Crime and Investigation unit of Gondomanan Police managed to uncover a motorcycle theft case that occurred in the Prwirodirjan area.

The case was revealed by the head of Gondomanan Police, Kompol Andhies Fitriya Utomo, S.T., S.I.K with head of public relations of Yogyakarta police, AKP Timbul Sasana Raharjo, S.H., M.H. in a press conference at Gondomanan Police headquarter on Tuesday (15/02) afternoon.

From the results of disclosure of the case, Kompol Andhies said that he had arrested a single perpetrator, a man with the initials KP, 28th years old which living at Klaten.

To the reporters presents, Kompol Andhies explained the chronology of the arrests began when the police received a report the theft of motorcycle in Prawirodirjan. Then carried out a series of investigations by collecting evidence and examining witnesses.

"From the CCTV recording, the police were able to identify the alleged perpetrator and do the chase," said the chief.

Kompol Andhies added, after receiving information on the whereabouts of KP, the officers moved quickly by securing KP in the Prawirodirjan area when they were about to take the stolen goods.

From the results of examination, it was revealed the mode of theft. By taking the motorbike from the victim's house and moving it to a safe location about 500 meters away. After situation is safe, then perpetrator takes the stolen goods.

"When they were about to take the stolen goods, the perpetrators were secured by officers," he added.

For his actions, KP is now threatened with chapter  363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with a maximum threat of seven years in prison.
