Kotagede – A middle age woman was found dead in her dorm room in South TegalgenduPrenggan, Kotagede, Yogyakarta on Wednesday (16/02) early days.
The victim was named Maryati (41) from Glinggang, Kendel Village, Kemusuk District, Kab. Boyolali, Central Java.
According to the witness, who is also the victim's first child, Sri Wahyuningsih, the victim initially complained of pain and fever
at about 11pm and then vomited accompanied by defecation in her pants.
"I cleaned my mother's body then smeared her body with eucalyptus oil. At 00.15 am she was sleeping and snoring. And than, at 00.30 WIB her body was cold, so I called for help from neighbours," he said.
According to the Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Police, AKP Timbul Sasana Raharja, after that, witnesses and few neighbours knew if the victim had died, then contacted the Kotagede Police, Yogyakarta City PSC 119 team and then went to the scene.
"After an examination from the Yogyakarta City PSC 119 Team, no signs of abuse were found," said AKP Timbul.
After a Swab examination was carried out by the PSC 119 team in the presence of the victim's family at 02.35 am, 15 minutes later the test results came out as negative for Covid-19.
"The family accepts the death of the victim, and the plan is to be buried in her hometown in Glinggang, Kendel, Kemusu , Boyolali, Central Java," he said.
The victim was then taken back to Boyolali using PMI ambulance on Wednesday morning as request of the family.
